This is the fourth episode in our series on creating a great blog. Today we are going to be looking at our buyer pain points. In the last episode, I talked about the importance of long term planning. If you are keeping up with the articles you will now have a list of blog posts with dates to be working on. If not, then why not go back and complete the long term planning first.

Know Your Buyer Pain Points

Buyer Pain Points

Before we get any further with creating our individual blog posts, I wanted to take a few minutes to talk about one vital area that we need to address – buyer pain points.

A pain point is something that is stopping your buyer to make a decision about a product. It is vital that you know what these are so you can talk directly about them. In the first part of this series you were asked to think of common objections that buyers may have about your product.

  • Is there a certain feature that they don’t understand?
  • Does your product work differently to what they are currently using?
  • Are they worried about it not working as expected?

I’ve kept this separate because you may choose to address these issues through your blog. However, it may mean changing other parts of your website such as adding a Frequently Asked Questions section to your pages or offering a free trial of your product or offering a ‘live chat’ function to your site so that the buyer can asks the sales team directly.

Think about all the different pain points for your buyer personas and make a list of them.

Make sure you know how you are going to address these issues through your website and marketing strategy.

If you need to, now go back to your long term plan and add in any extra articles that may be needed to address your buyer pain points.
